Woodruff Sweitzer (WS) took home two first-place awards at the National Best of NAMA Awards on April 13 in Kansas City. The annual convention, sponsored by the National Agri-Marketing Association, honors excellence in agricultural marketing communications.
WS and AMVAC Chemical Corporation (AMVAC) won first place in the “Company or Association Magazine, External” category for CWT Publication: Winter and Summer 2015 Editions. Named after the measure the potato growers use to gauge harvest and profitability, cwt is crafted as a business-focused tool for potato growers. With articles that go beyond production updates and news tips, cwt is about the business of growing potatoes.
AMVAC and WS also received a first-place award for the AMVAC SmartBlock Billboards in the “Billboards or Other Outdoor Ads” category. SmartBlock is a post-harvest sprout inhibitor that effectively burns off “peeping” sprouts and restores dormancy to all varieties of potatoes without affecting potato quality.
“This work was a result of a strategic partnership between industry-leading agency staff coupled with forward-thinking clients,” said Terry Woodruff, president and chief executive officer. “We weren’t doing it with national recognition in mind – we were just doing what was right for our clients.”
Additionally, Woodruff Sweitzer and their client partners won merit awards in the following categories:
- Diamond Pet Foods for their work with Dennis the Dachshund in the “Specialty PR Campaign” category.
- Eurofins/BioDiagnostics Inc. for the BDI Corporate Brochure in the “Direct Mail – directed to dealers, distributors, sales reps or others serving agribusiness – flat” category.
