Thompson & Co. Public Relations President and CEO Jennifer Thompson will be inducted into the Anchorage ATHENA Society on March 21, along with 10 other members in the class of 2016.
Anchorage’s most influential female leaders are invited into the society each year, chosen for their support of Anchorage’s business community and their dedication to helping business women in Anchorage. A program of the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, the society works to encourage the potential of all women as valued members and leaders of the business community.
Thompson took the reins of Bernholz & Graham Public Relations under her mentor, ATHENA Society member Robbie Graham, and purchased the PR firm in 2009. As president and CEO of Thompson & Co. PR, she’s more than doubled the agency’s size, diversified its clients, grown the agency’s New York City office and recently opened a Houston, Texas, office.
Thompson has paid particular attention to mentoring the women on her staff along the way. In 2015, she won Anchorage Downtown Partnership’s Heart of Anchorage George M. Sullivan Award, which is presented to the manager, executive or owner who demonstrates strong leadership qualities and works well with a team. She was also named one of PR News Top Women in PR in 2015.
“Lifting up women, assisting them on the journey to love and value themselves is really everything to me,” Thompson said. “I am honored to be part of this group of impressive women leaders.”
