In his role, Travis will oversee an award-winning practice that serves a diverse mix of clients including hospitals, physicians’ groups, insurers, home health companies, public sector agencies, medical journals, foundations, secondary schools, and colleges and universities. Strategizing with these clients in both traditional and digital media, he will be leveraging his nearly 20 years of experience in the communications industry, having held positions in public relations, public affairs, marketing and advertising.

“Travis has a distinguished and proven track record of working with some of the country’s most respected brands,” said Helene Solomon, CEO of Solomon McCown & Company. “Having led initiatives on behalf of ground-breaking organizations in healthcare, energy, emerging technology and beyond, Travis’ breadth of experience will serve as an invaluable resource for our clients and staff alike.”

“Travis is well known in the industry for his high standards in creativity, writing and client service and we are excited to have him join our senior leadership team,” added Ashley McCown, SM& President.

During his career, Travis has worked with global clients and brands, overseeing major media relations programs, messaging and positioning efforts, implementation of crisis communications protocols and cause marketing campaigns. A veteran of several political campaigns, he also brings a deep public affairs orientation to his work and has a proven track record of working with clients in highly regulated industries.

“My passion has always been telling the stories of mission-driven companies and organizations of all sizes that are transforming their industries,” said Small. “At Solomon McCown, I join a firm whose clients are advancing new solutions that are having a positive impact on people’s lives and their communities every day.”

Prior to joining Solomon McCown, Travis served as a vice president with Lois Paul and Partner’s (LPP) healthcare practice where he led several key accounts including Philips and other health tech and medical device companies.
