República, an independent cross-cultural advertising, digital and communications agency, announced the appointment of Anthony Bianco as executive vice president and general manager, a newly created position to manage the agency’s explosive growth. Bianco brings more than 20 years’ experience in agency executive management, servicing a varied roster of blue-chip clients. In his new role at República, Bianco, who recently relocated to South Florida from New York, will blend his vast general market expertise with the agency’s deep cross-cultural know-how to sharpen its focus on activating the U.S. Multicultural Mainstream.
Founded in 2006, República, a digital native agency, has developed into a full-service, fully integrated marketing communications firm – providing branding, advertising, media planning and buying, digital, and public relations counsel and services – and has recently integrated offerings for bolstering diversity programs in both corporate America and Silicon Valley. República’s client partner roster includes an array of top consumer and B2B brands.
“As we approach República’s 10th anniversary, we’re thrilled to welcome Anthony to the family. There’s a seismic shift happening in America as the overall population becomes more and more diverse. From baby boomers, millennials to Generation Z, and all of the rich heritage in between, multiculturalism has become mainstream,” said Jorge A. Plasencia, co-founder, chairman and CEO of República. “Anthony is an impressive professional with first-class expertise who will undoubtedly inspire our team and client partners as he builds upon the entrepreneurial, family-like philosophy that have become cornerstones of our agency’s culture,” added Plasencia.
Prior to República, he served as managing partner at Naked Communications. Prior to Naked, Bianco served a 14-year tenure at WPP’s Berlin Cameron United, where he was partner and managing director. Before Berlin Cameron United, Bianco was at Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners, working on key accounts. Bianco has also earned recognition as the youngest member of the North American World Cup Snowboard Team in 1989 with several corporate sponsors, including Oakley.
“It’s an extremely exciting time to be joining one of the nation’s most prominent cross-cultural agencies while marketers are taking note that there is no one-strategy-fits-all approach,” said Bianco. “República’s multicultural offering coupled with ever-expanding cultural and psychographic diversity, uniquely positions us to work with partners that understand the extraordinary benefits associated with nuance communications,” added Bianco.
República employs an insights-driven approach to activating the Multicultural Mainstream, wherein communications strategies are aligned specifically with target audience characteristics. The agency recognizes multicultural marketing as the new paradigm, which Bianco will help further define and leverage on behalf of the agency’s clients.
