Pac/West (www.pacwestcom.com), a full-service public relations and government affairs firm, has announced the addition of Melissa Simpson, former U.S. Department of Agriculture Deputy Under Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment. Simpson joins the firm as Vice President of Policy and Regulatory Affairs in its Washington D.C. office and will focus on wildlife conservation, energy development and natural resource regulatory issues.
“As a recognized leader in policy development on natural resource issues, Melissa is a valuable addition to Pac/West’s team,” said Paul Phillips, president of Pac/West. “Melissa gives us a strategic edge that will add tremendous value to the campaign efforts we manage for a wide range of clients.”
While serving in Washington D.C. on Capitol Hill, at the U.S. Department of the Interior, and most recently at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Simpson worked daily with leaders across the federal government to increase access to public lands and improve the regulatory process for multiple-use land management.
“Through Pac/West, I will bring unique insights and effective solutions to natural resources issues affecting sportsmen, industry and multiple-use stakeholders,” said Simpson.
