Tech PR agency Blanc & Otus announced Tony Hynes as its new chief executive officer. Tony brings more than 20 years’ experience delivering integrated communications programs for a wide range of technology companies around the globe. Tony will also serve as executive vice president at Hill+Knowlton Strategies, a sister company of Blanc & Otus.
“When the opportunity to join Blanc & Otus came up I leapt at it,” said Hynes. “Not only does it have an incredible client roster and an excellent team, it is also one of the first tech PR firms in Silicon Valley and has played an integral role in the communications strategies of numerous technology pioneers.”
Before joining Blanc & Otus, Tony was a partner at WPP boutique agency North of Nine Communications. Prior, he was general manager and executive vice president at Weber Shandwick, where he managed its Northern Californian operation and supported major client engagements.
“From the minute I met Tony, I knew he had what it takes to succeed in this role,” said Beth Balsam, U.S. President and CEO at Hill+Knowlton Strategies. “His reputation for excellence – both in client service and as a team leader – spoke volumes. I am so excited to have him at the helm of Blanc & Otus and have every confidence he will continue the long tradition of success at our leading tech boutique in the Bay Area.”
Tony also served as the West Coast general manager at Bite Communications where he managed global technology accounts, and established Bite’s Clean Technology Practice. He has also held positions at Hitachi Data Systems and Ogilvy Public Relations and lived all over the world, including Melbourne, Hong Kong, Paris and London.
