Henson Consulting Taps Agency Vet Kris Garvey as Senior Strategist and Director of Operations

Henson Consulting, a Chicago-based boutique PR firm, has named agency veteran Kris Garvey as Senior Strategist and Director of Operations, a newly-created position for the agency. Kris has been selected to serve in a leadership position to support the CEO, guide operations for the agency and provide support for all practice leaders and staff.

Most recently Kris was at MSLGROUP as the Deputy Managing Director and Consumer Practice Leader for the Chicago office, where she led operations, oversaw new business development and served as client relationship manager across the consumer practice. Prior to MSLGROUP, Kris worked at Weber Shandwick for 10 years, serving as Executive Vice President and Deputy General Manager in the Chicago office. Earlier in her career, she held roles at Edelman Public Relations Worldwide as well.

“Kris is one of those rare leaders in the public relations industry who has equal amounts of passion and energy for driving creativity and strategic direction for her client business and providing operations excellence to ensure the agency is set up for success with the optimal people management, financial systems and client resources necessary to innovate and differentiate in the marketplace,” said Kathleen Henson, Founder and CEO of Henson Consulting. “She has a proven track record of success across multiple global agencies, and I am beyond excited to have Kris join HC’s kindness-driven culture. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Kris for almost my entire career, and her business prowess and team dynamics are exactly what I need to take the agency to the next level.”

“I am beyond thrilled to join the talented team at Henson Consulting. It’s not often you find the perfect opportunity at just the right time in your career,” said Garvey. “After spending most of my agency life working for larger, global firms, I made a conscious decision to go to a nationally-recognized, boutique agency where I know I can make a notable difference because the clients and the people are what matter most, and that is priority #1 to me. It’s also an exciting time for boutiques like HC, as clients are seeking out smaller, specialized agencies to get a higher level of service and attention, without compromising amazing work. And since I’ve known Kathleen for nearly 18 years, I’ve had the chance to not only watch her agency grow and thrive, but I’ve also been able to follow the countless accolades of her firm’s blue-chip clients and staff. And, those two things get me most excited about this next chapter.”

HC celebrates 15 years in business this month and has plans to continue to add to its staff throughout the year.
