Former college soccer coach Oral “Nick” Hillary was found not guilty today in the murder of Garrett Phillips, the 12-year-old son of his ex-girlfriend. New York based public relations agency Goldman McCormick is being credited with helping Hillary get exonerated.
“This morning I stood at the precipice of either spending the next fifteen years-to -life in prison or finally going home to my family. Goldman McCormick PR is a big reason why I’m going home to my family,” said Nick Hillary.
“Mark Goldman and Ryan McCormick were game changers in this case. They orchestrated an incredibly effective media relations campaign on behalf of Nick Hillary which began over a year ago. As a result of their efforts in bringing national attention to this case, we were able to garner crucial legal and financial support so desperately needed,” said Mani Tafari, Nick Hillary’s Civil Attorney.
Goldman McCormick PR created an online newsroom called Truth For Nick Hillary, which kept the media updated frequently on the facts and latest developments in the case. They also provided media training for both Nick Hillary and his legal counsel.
“We couldn’t be happier to see Nick Hillary be exonerated today. We always believed he was innocent. This is one of the most fulfilling campaigns we’ve ever worked on and we’d love the opportunity to work on similar campaigns in the future,” said Mark Goldman, Co-Founder of Goldman McCormick Public Relations.
Founded in 2010, Goldman McCormick Public Relations specializes in legal PR as well as PR for doctors, financial experts, authors, and psychologists. Co-Founders Mark Goldman and Ryan McCormick are both former TV producers who regularly appear in the media offering insights on reputation management.
