Mark Medish, former senior staff member of the National Security Council (NSC) during the Clinton administration and Washington veteran, will join APCO Worldwide (www.apcoworldwide.com) to run its executive advisory service Global Political Strategies (GPS). Medish will lead the GPS team of senior former government and corporate officials from around the world who have formed a diplomatic corps for global client needs, particularly as they do business in challenging markets.
Medish will also serve as an executive vice president of APCO Worldwide.
"We are very excited to have someone with Mark’s diverse background join us," said Margery Kraus, founder and CEO of APCO Worldwide. "He brings an extraordinary level of international experience in government and business, and is a recognized expert on political risk analysis and direct investment strategies. We look forward to working with him to help clients with their most complicated international challenges and opportunities, as we continue to build this area of our business."
Prior to joining APCO, Medish had a distinguished public service career in national security, financial policy and international development. He served at the White House as special assistant to President Bill Clinton and NSC senior director for Russian, Ukrainian and Eurasian Affairs.
"APCO is a company that has been ahead of its time in recognizing the needs of businesses as they expand around the world," said Medish. "I look forward to helping clients access the broad base of resources and experts that have been brought together through the GPS service as well as the more than 600 people around the globe that form the APCO team. I am especially impressed with the idea of GPS. This CEO-level counsel will help businesses identify new opportunities and manage complex challenges in an increasingly global marketplace."
