Case Foundation, the family foundation of noted philanthropists Jean and Steve Case (co-founder of AOL and chairman of Revolution, a D.C.-based venture capital firm) hired veteran public affairs executive, Sam Heitner, as its new Senior Vice President of Communications and Marketing. Heitner will lead all communications and marketing strategy for the Case Foundation, which has given more than $100 million to charitable causes and campaigns with a mission to invest in people and ideas that are changing the world, since its inception in 1997.
For nearly two decades the Case Foundation has focused on creating programs and investing in people and organizations that harness the best impulses of entrepreneurship, innovation, technology and collaboration to address urgent social challenges. The firm’s work is focused on three key pillars: revolutionizing the philanthropic sector, unleashing the power of entrepreneurship to create social change and igniting civic engagement through citizen-driven solutions.
Prior to arriving at the Case Foundation, Sam advised a wide variety of entities on how to brand themselves and communicate effectively with their target audiences. He created award-winning advertisements, developed critical strategic alliances, provided guidance for international negotiators and was a spokesperson and featured expert for prestige television, radio, newspaper, magazine and digital platforms worldwide.
