WestGlen Offers Special No-Cost "Hispanic Heritage Month" Spanish-Language TV PSA Satellite Feed: Deadline for Submissions is July 30

West Glen Communications (www.westglen.com), a broadcast and Internet public relations consultancy and production company, announced it will be offering nonprofits that have Spanish-language TV public service announcements (PSAs), the opportunity to participate in a free satellite feed in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15). The offer will include a 15-minute satellite feed of PSAs during mid-August with Spanish-language notification to a national list of broadcast Spanish-language networks and television stations currently accepting PSAs. The PSAs will be distributed free of charge on behalf of nonprofit organizations. "Hispanic media outlets across the country are continually underserved when it comes to public service announcements, and are actively seeking information in Spanish for their audiences," said Ivette Achong, vice president of PSA services and Hispanic Market & Multicultural Specialist at WestGlen, in a company release. "This feed not only helps the media but also nonprofit organizations that have important public service messages for the Hispanic community."

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are currently over 50 million Hispanics in the United States, with the population expected to reach 132.8 million people by 2050. Marketing research also indicates that Hispanic purchasing power is expected to reach $1.3 trillion by 2015. Surveys of the Hispanic media, conducted by WestGlen, routinely show they do not receive the same volume of PSAs as their mainstream counterparts, yet their audiences are equally in need of public service and educational information.

To submit a Spanish-language PSA:

Nonprofits should send a broadcast quality BetaSP or Digi-beta tape with up to three PSAs not to exceed :90 total running time, script(s), background information and contact information, by July 30th, to:
