Veteran Publicists Launch New PR Firm Urban + Allen
Veteran hospitality publicists and partners Brenda Urban and Edward Allen have announced the formation of new public relations firm Urban + Allen (http://urbanallen.com/). Located at 1680 Vine Street in the Taft Building in Hollywood, Urban + Allen is a full-service public relations and marketing agency that specializes in representing clients in all areas of the hospitality industry—from culinary personalities and restaurants to hotels and resorts.

Current Los Angeles restaurant clients include Cardiff Giant properties The Hudson, The Churchill, and Clover juice, Bamboo Izakaya, Olive & Thyme, For The Record at Rockwell: Table and Stage, Franklin & Company, and The Oaks Gourmet. Urban + Allen recently completed two very successful client campaigns including VIP food purveyor at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and a sold-out performance of "For The Record" at House of Blues in Hollywood. The firm is also working on two yet-to-be-named projects from Cardiff Giant opening later this year in West Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles.
Urban has been working in public relations for more than a decade, representing all facets of the hospitality industry, including tourism boards, hotel and resorts, restaurants and chefs. Previous clients include Tourism Western Australia, the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism, the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, MGM Mirage resorts, Montage Hotels & Resorts, the Waldorf-Astoria hotel, Hotel Jerome, as well as numerous restaurants, chefs and culinary personalities in New York City and Los Angeles including Gladstones, Katsuya by Stark, Public Kitchen & Bar, 25 Degrees, Le Périgord,. Previously, she led a sub-division of Wagstaff Worldwide, TRUEWagstaff, where she represented culinary personalities and chefs such as Gail Simmons, Edward Lee, Duff Goldman, and Candace Nelson.
As former President of EDA Publicity, Allen has worked with some of Los Angeles' most popular restaurants including The Churchill, The Hudson, Yamashiro, Komida, Lucifers Pizza, Checkers Downtown, Vu, Nirvana, Bombay Palace, and Rockwell: Table & Stage. Edward has also represented boutique hotel properties such as The Orlando, Jamaica Bay Inn, and the Milliken Creek Inn & Spa in Napa. He also served as one of the PR committee-chairs for Taste of The Nation Los Angeles.
In addition to his work in the hospitality industry, Edward remains active in politics. Edward began his professional career working in Washington D.C. for California Congresswoman, Zoe Lofgren, as her legislative aide. After three and a half years with Congresswoman Lofgren, Edward went to work for Hillary and President Clinton doing press advance during Ms. Clinton's 2008 Presidential campaign. Edward continues his work today with top Democratic leaders including Former President Bill Clinton, Secretary Hillary Clinton, Al Gore and Vice President Joe Biden. Following his political career, Edward moved to New York where he worked at Manhattan Theatre Club and later as a Broadway publicist for shows including Wicked, Next to Normal, Billy Crystal's 700 Sundays and Anna Deavere Smith's Let Me Down Easy.
