Rug Doctor Retains RAPP and Edelman to Lead Creative and Public Relations Efforts

Rug Doctor, manufacturer of do-it-yourself carpet cleaning machines and products, announced the hiring of multi-channel marketing agency RAPP (www.rapp.com) and Edelman (www.edelman.com) to handle creative and public relations strategies, respectively.

RAPP will be charged with refining the brand and point of sale platforms for Rug Doctor.

"We chose RAPP as our creative agency of record because of its depth of knowledge in branding and analytics, as well as its customer relationship management expertise," said Tim Wall, CEO and president at Rug Doctor. "In addition, RAPP's superior analytics capabilities will serve our efforts toward increasing our share of voice within our industry."

"RAPP will undoubtedly be a great partner in refining our messaging to stimulate consumer engagement with the Rug Doctor brand. The agency's portfolio demonstrates they are highly successful when working with top-tier consumer packaged goods brands," added Walter Haug, vice president of marketing at Rug Doctor.

Following a public relations project in 2011, Rug Doctor also retained Edelman this year, bringing on the agency full-time to coordinate aspects of the brand's media relations, social media, tradeshows and events, and corporate social responsibility.

"We selected Edelman as our public relations agency because of its strong consumer marketing practice," Haug said. "As an industry leader, we desired an agency that could effectively communicate with our stakeholders to enhance awareness of our brand and initiatives."
