Ogilvy PR-Atlanta's Hawkins wins PRSA|GA Chapter Champion Award
Jacob Hawkins has been awarded the PRSA Georgia Chapter's (www.prsageorgia.org) Chapter Champion Award in recognition of his outstanding volunteer work for the chapter.
Hawkins is an account director at the Atlanta office of Ogilvy Public Relations where he leads the agency's work with Communities In Schools of Georgia as well as working with other clients including Darden Restaurants and University of Phoenix.
"Joining the Georgia chapter of PRSA as soon as I started working in the Atlanta market, and making a concentrated effort to be engaged, has helped me advance my career and grow as a professional," said Hawkins. "I'm grateful not only for the continued opportunity that the Chapter provides to meet with and learn from leaders in the industry, but also for the chance to be a part of the work the organization does to grow and elevate the practice of public relations in Georgia."
He served on the chapter's Membership Committee in 2009 and led that committee as a co-chair in 2010. He is serving on this year's Real World PR Collegiate Conference logistics team and was also on the 2012 Nominating Committee. During the past two years, Hawkins has also enjoyed working with the newly established University of West Georgia PRSSA (student) chapter as the chapter's professional advisor.
