Hill+Knowlton Strategies (www.hkstrategies.com) announced that Tim Luckett has been appointed co-chair of the global crisis communications and risk management practice. Luckett has served as head of crisis for EMEA based in London, and has more than 20 years media and PR experience handling high profile crises across a range of sectors.

"In the past year, Tim has grown crisis revenue in the EMEA region by more than 30%, leading and coordinating some of Europe's largest clients," said Jack Martin, global chairman and CEO. "In his new role as co-chair of the global crisis practice, Tim will continue to manage issues and crises across all time zones and regions. His experience in developing and managing crisis communication strategies for high-profile companies will undoubtedly prove beneficial to our clients facing or anticipating a crisis situation."

Luckett joins Chris Gidez as co-chair of the global practice. With Gidez, Luckett will provide counsel and support to companies and organizations across the globe as they prepare for, manage and recover from reputation-threatening situations.

"Hill+Knowlton Strategies has seen tremendous growth in our crisis communication engagements over the past two years, and we have only touched the tip of what is a significant global market opportunity," said Gidez. "The added leadership will help build on our momentum. Our rich pool of talent and diverse offering of services positions H+K as the consultancy of choice for global companies and regional market leaders alike."

Luckett has extensive expertise in product recall, litigation support and sports media training and also advises extensively at C-suite level. In his new role, he will be serving crisis clients across all regions.

"Crises have significant consequences on companies both in terms of reputations and bottom line," said Luckett. "H+K is at the forefront of not just helping clients respond but also prepare. The crisis practice is one of the fastest growing areas of our business and moving into 2013, I look forward to ensuring the quality, consistency and relevance of our crisis offer on a global basis."
