Ken Makovsky Awarded Outstanding Individual Achievement SABRE Award
Kenneth D. Makovsky, founder and president of Makovsky + Company (www.makovsky.com), has been named the winner of the Holmes Report's 2012 SABRE Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement.
The Holmes Report recognized Ken for "[helping] Makovsky + Company keep its place at the pinnacle of the New York agency world through good times and bad. He has been relentlessly modernizing Makovsky + Company's approach to public relations, helping clients in highly-regulated industries engage via social media and developing a branding and interactive practice that integrates PR and marketing disciplines in a channel-neutral way."
Of the award, Ken Makovsky said, "I share this award with the great people of Makovsky + Company, whose dedication, creativity, passion and talent drive results for our clients' strategies on a daily basis. The success we've enjoyed and continue to enjoy is made by possible by our firm's greatest strength – specialization in our chosen areas of health, financial and professional services, technology, energy, digital branding and change management."
Ken was also recognized for contributing intellectual capital to the industry in his blog, "My Three Cents," and in speeches, seminars and interviews, as well as for donating his time and talent to a variety of human rights, higher education and economic development causes. He is Treasurer and a Trustee of the Institute for Public Relations, founder and former board member of the Council of PR firms, and member of an Advisory Board for the School of Arts & Sciences at Washington University, his alma mater.
The award will be presented at the annual SABRE Awards dinner, to be held May 8, 2012 in New York City, where Makovsky is also a finalist for a Gold SABRE award in the "Product Media Relations (Consumer Media)" category.
