Emory University's Hussey Wins PRSA|GA's Chapter Champion Award

Timothy L. Hussey APR was given the Chapter Champion Award from the Georgia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (www.prsageorgia.org), in recognition of his outstanding volunteer work for the chapter. Hussey is senior director for marketing and communications for Emory University School of Law, where he has received numerous accolades for his work in support of the school, including several Phoenix Awards and the Bronze Anvil.

"I became involved in PRSA because of the tremendous networking and professional development opportunities the chapter offers. Having moved to Atlanta in the beginning stages of my career, the contacts I made through this organization were invaluable in helping me achieve my career goals and grow as a professional. I've had the privilege and honor of working with so many wonderful people during my time here — many of whom I would never have met without being involved in PRSA," said Hussey.

The award recognizes a member who has significantly contributed to the chapter's success and is given monthly or when appropriate. Hussey was presented with a certificate and an inscribed pen at the chapter's monthly luncheon today.

A PRSA member since 1998, Hussey has served on a number of chapter committees including website, internal communications, nominating and Phoenix Awards/Awards Celebration. He was a member of the board of PRSA|GA for a number of years, serving as president of the chapter in 2010. In addition, he served as chair of a national task force on website development for PRSA and as a national Assembly Delegate.
