Calypso Communications Names Currier Director, Account Development

Calypso Communications (www.calypsocom.com), a strategic marketing and public relations firm, announced the appointment of Melissa Thompson Currier as the agency’s director of account development. Currier, a former marketing director, executive-level consulting strategist, and agency veteran, is charged with guiding strategic development and success for Calypso’s expanding roster of energy, environmental, healthcare, and technology clients.

"In the current economy, sustainable value is paramount to our clients," said Kevin Stickney, Calypso’s founder. "Melissa keeps a laser focus on strategy and proactive tactical efforts that are both effective and measurable. She is a pro at keeping clients on track and on message, avoiding reactive modes that are expensive and mission diverting. Calypso is committed to this approach."

"I am very excited to join the talented team at Calypso," said Currier. "In today’s virtual world, there is no reason for clients to go to D.C. or New York for top-notch PR, marketing, and creative professionals. Compared to a big, urban agency, Calypso’s culture leaves more time for humor, clear thinking, and creative insights in everyone’s day."

Currier’s professional highlights include work as the director of interactive services at Crosby Marketing Communications.
