Q. How much does it cost?

A. One award category is $295. To enter a PR/communications professional or agency in multiple categories costs an additional $75 per category. Each different professional or agency is another $295.

Q. What goes into the entry packet?

A. This is very important: You must upload a PDF of each award entry, plus payment for each entry. Each entry must include three things:

  1. An explanation of why the professional or agency deserves to win,
  2. hard evidence of the professional or agency's greatest accomplishments (press coverage, citations, photos or videos)
  3. your online entry form. The online entry form must be completely filled out. If any part of form is left blank, entry will not be accepted.

Q. What goes into the award explanation?

A. Above all, both agency and individual professional entries should make the case for your leadership, integrity and extraordinary achievement—especially displays of breakthrough thinking, initiative, and qualities that are a credit to the PR business. These qualities and accomplishments should primarily be from the past year, but may also be cumulative over a number of years.

For agencies, the explanation should cover the following information:
Demonstrate your outstanding recent achievements in 1) Account retention; 2) employee retention and human resources; 3) growth through new business acquisition and increases in existing client billings; and 4) achievements in the practice of public relations/corporate communications (including awards won, innovations to PR/communications practice and extraordinary results achieved for clients

For small, midsize and large agency categories, please include a brief letter signed by the agency CEO or president attesting to the firm's annual PR/corporate communications (non-advertising) income (fees plus mark-up for outside purchases) and number of employees.

For PR/communications professionals, the explanation should cover the following information: Demonstrate your outstanding recent achievements in leadership, integrity and extraordinary professional accomplishments—displays of breakthrough thinking, initiative, results and qualities that reflect positively on the PR profession.

Q. You ask for certification of agency income, but our management doesn't want to reveal this proprietary information. Can we leave it blank?

A. No, our judges need to be able to compare "apples to apples." If it's really a huge problem, please consider entering categories (e.g. Boutique Agency of the Year) for which no affidavit of agency income is required.

Q. How many copies of everything do I have to send?

A. You need to send one copy of the entry packet for each category entered. For example: If you enter one campaign in three different categories, you'll pay $445 ($295 + $75 + $75), plus a single late fee of $95 if applicable, and you'll upload 3 copies of the entry packet.

Q. I'm having trouble uploading my entry on to your site. What can I do?

A. In 95% of cases in which entrants encounter problems with the uploading process, they have not carefully and thoroughly reviewed the instructions in the Guidelines for Preparation of Your PDF Upload.
